We have launching, mooring and storage facilities for boat owners whether your interests lie in water skiing, sailing or windsurfing.
We hire boats for fishing on the lake and we also hire kayaks, canadian canoes, pedaloes and sailing dinghies. |
Please remember when using the lake that you are in a National Park and their are zoning arrangements in place.Please take your litter home. |

Buoyancy Aids are provided at no extra charge when you hire a craft from us.
They can also be hired at £5.00 per day from the shop for use with your own craft – deposit required. The hire of sailing boats is at our discretion and is subject to your sailing experience and weather conditions.

When hiring watercraft you need to be aware of your own limitations and the prevailing weather conditions, and are reminded that all water activities are potentially hazardous and undertaken at your own risk. Children under 17 years of age must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Fishermen arriving when the shop is closed can still pay by going through the bar gate to the right of the shop where they will find a box with envelopes inside .Fill in your details(name,car registration own boat/hire boat,number fishing,mobile telephone number)then put the correct money in the envelope and post it into the post box on the right. Please return oars to side of house when finnished. |

PERMIT CHARGES 2008
LLANGORSE LAKE is a large, natural lake of approximately 400 acres. It is owned by the Llangorse Lake Conservation and Management Co. Ltd, who issue permits for boating and fishing on the lake.
RAY & WENDY DAVIES of Lakeside Caravan and Camping Park act as the sole agents of the company for the sale of permits and for the day-to-day operations of all activities on the lake which are subject to permits and the condition of issue.
THE SCALE OF CHARGES for 2008 permits is listed below and a set of rules and conditions will be displayed in the reception area of the Lakeside Caravan Park Shop-where all permits will be on sale.
LAUNCHING AND HIRE CHARGES will be as already published by Lakeside Caravan Park. It is necessary to pay for launching as well as buying a permit when you take your own craft onto the lake.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a 8 kilometres per hour (5 m.p.h.) speed restriction on the lake other than for safety boats and boats towing a water skier. It is important that you are aware of all the conditions relating to the use of the lake. Copies of the rules are available.

WATERSKIING can only take place between 14/3/08 and 09/11/08
SEASONAL PERMITS for powerboats for waterskiing are valid from 14/3/08 to 09/11/08
SEASONAL PERMITS for other categories are valid from 1/2/08 to 31/12/08.
DAILY PERMITS can be bought individually on a daily basis or in blocks of five consecutive days when a 20% DISCOUNT will be given.
SPECIAL OFFER - If you camp on our site or stay in one of our caravans and buy 5 consecutive day permits we will not charge the normal launching fee. |

FISHING RULES
THERE ARE PIKE, PERCH, ROACH, BREAM AND EELS IN THE LAKE.
FISHING RULES
1* All persons 17 years and over must pay for a permit BEFORE going on the Lake. These cost £5.00 and are available from Lakeside shop. A fishing license from the Environment Agency is also needed. These are available from most Post Offices. (Not required for under 12 years old).
2* DO NOT enter the exclusion zones - SEE BELOW. Free Lake maps showing the exclusion zones are available from Lakeside shop.
3* There is a speed limit of 8 kilometres per hour (5 mph) for all craft on the lake.
4* Fishing is only from boats. (Rowing boats can be hired from Lakeside shop). No bank fishing is allowed. No live bait is to be introduced into the lake from off site).
5* No mooring to the buoys. Be aware that the slalom skiing course is connected with steel wire, which will snag your lines!
6* DO NOT leave litter in the boats, especially fishing line and plastics which can prove fatal to wildlife if eaten.
EXCLUSION ZONES
1* No craft may enter the permanent exclusion zone marked red on the map and with red buoys on the lake ( exception - from 1st Feb to 14th March fishing boats may enter the western exclusion zone but go no closer than 25m from the edge of the reed bed, any trolling in the restricted zone is preferably by electric motor or rowing).
2* Between the 9th Nov and 14th March no craft should enter the summer avoidance/ winter exclusion zones marked yellow on the map and by yellow buoys on the Lake.
3* From the 14th March until 9th Nov fishing boats may enter the summer avoidance/ winter exclusion zone marked yellow on the map and by yellow buoys on the lake but crafts with engines are asked to reduce their use of this zone whenever possible.
GUIDELINES
1* At busier times, if you moor near to other fishermen it will encourage other lake users (e.g. water skiers and sailors) to go around your boats rather than between you.
2* Protect your sport by behaving in a responsible manner.
3* Please note we do not supply anchors with the hire of fishing boats. You are advised to bring your own.

WE STRONGLY ADVISE ALL LAKE USERS TO WEAR BUOYANCY AIDS

WATER SKIING RULES
1* Permits to ski on the lake are obtainable at Lakeside shop. The permits do not cover launch fees.
2* Only members of the British Water Ski Federation ( Tel : 01932 570885) will be permitted to buy permits to ski on the lake and proof of membership is necessary.
3* Proof of power boat insurance, including minimum 3rd party indemnity of at least £1,000,000 is also necessary.
4* The lake is closed for waterskiing between the 9th November and the 14th March. There are 'no go ' areas on the lake, which are marked in red and yellow on the map and by red and yellow buoys on the lake. It is necessary to be aware of these ‘no go’ areas before you launch your craft.
5* Season permits will cover the period from the 14th March to the 9th November and may be used at all times in accordance with the time limits imposed.
6* Skiing is not permitted between 11.00am and 5.00pm on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
7* On Sundays after 5.00pm, all skiing must be conducted in the South East end of the lake (i.e the Dog-Leg end). Numbers are limited to the first 5 boats that register with Lakeside Shop on the Sunday they will be used.
8* No inflatable devices on Sundays or before 9.00am on Saturdays.
9* Waterskiing to be confined to the period beginning one hour after sunrise and ending one hour before sunset or between 6.00am and 9.00pm. whichever is the lesser.
10* No boat may be driven by any person less than 16yrs of age. This allows 16 year olds to drive at 8 kilometers per hour (5 mph) to gain experience.
11* When towing a waterskier or inflatable, each boat must have a driver and an observer BOTH of whom must be not less than 17 years of age.
12* No more than TEN boats are to be actively engaged in towing a skier at any one time.
13* All engines must be properly silenced. Water scooters , Jet Skis, Jet Bikes, Hovercraft, Hydrofoils and paragliding are not acceptable and are banned on the lake together with any abnormally noisy craft. If there is any question or dispute as to what is classified as abnormally noisy or unsuitable craft or equipment, then this shall be the decision of the Company or their Agents and their decision shall be final.
14* Power boats and waterskiers will not be allowed to take-off or land within 200 yards of the launching area and the speed limit of 8 kilometres per hour (5 m.p.h.) MUST BE OBSERVED at all times within the launching area.
15* The speed limit of 8 kilometres per hour (5m.p.h.) MUST BE OBSERVED at all times, unless towing a skier or inflatable or recovering a skier from the water.
16* When recovering a skier from the water, a red flag MUST be flown in order to indicate that there is a skier in the water.
17* When leaving the launching area, all powerboats must proceed in an anti-clockwise direction and keep this direction as a general rule around the lake.
18* Access to the jetty areas is for launching/ recovery purposes only. Cars, trailers etc must be removed to a car park at all other times.
19* No bow riding allowed and all other general safety rules for water use must be observed at all times.
20* Boats should not produce excessive Wakes.
21* The Company and their Agents reserve the right to ban any boat or person from using the lake for power boat and water skiing purposes if necessary and to impose any time and or zoning conditions whenever they deem necessary.

SAILING BOATS AND WINDSURFERS

- No craft should intentionally enter any permanent exclusion marked red on the map and with red buoys on the lake.
- From the 14th March until 9th Nov all craft should try to reduce their use of the summer avoidance/winter exclusion zone marked yellow on the map and with yellow buoys on the lake.
- Between the 9th Nov to the 14th March no craft should intentionally enter the summer avoidance/winter exclusion zone.
Please make your craft ready before bringing it on to the jetty and remove your trailer/vehicle to a suitable parking place once it has been launched.
